THE OTHER SIDE
Boulder Hair Collective is not just a salon; it is a community-focused initiative that believes in giving back and supporting those in need. In July, the salon opened its doors to eight women from The Other Side Academy, a nonprofit organization that helps individuals change their lives and overcome challenges such as homelessness, substance abuse, and criminal backgrounds.
Our Owner of Boulder Hair Collective, Trey, has been working with and donating to The Other Side Academy for about three years. He has witnessed the incredible impact they have on the community by offering a two-year program that includes vocational training, education, peer counseling, mentoring, and transitional support.
To honor the commitment and hard work of these women, Boulder Hair Collective provided them with a pampering experience that included haircuts and fabulous blowouts. The salon wanted to create a space that celebrated their journey towards a better life and allowed them to share their stories. It was a day filled with real-life conversations, successes, struggles, and the appreciation for the little things that we often take for granted.
Partnering with The Other Side Academy is an honor for Boulder Hair Collective. They are dedicated to bringing awareness to the organization's work and supporting their mission in the community. The day spent with these women was not only inspiring but also a reminder of the importance of love, kindness, and appreciation for the little things in life.
The Other Side Academy operates based on a set of beliefs that guide their program and the individuals they help.
