TRANSFORMING THE GLOBAL ECONOMY TO BENEFIT ALL PEOPLE, COMMUNITIES AND THE PLANET.

WHY B-CORP?

HOW DOES THIS IMPACT BOULDER HAIR COLLECTIVE, IT’S CLIENTS, STYLIST AND COMMUNITY WE BELONG?

  • As a B-Corp entity, we’re held at a higher standard that any other businesses that serve people. B-corp standards are at the heart of the B Corp movement and the Theory of Change, defining social, environmental, and governance best practices for businesses.

  • B Corp Certification is a designation that a business is meeting high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency on factors from employee benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices and input materials. In order to achieve certification, a company must:

-Demonstrate high social and environmental performance by achieving a B Impact Assessment score of 80 or above and passing our risk review.

-Exhibit transparency by allowing information about their performance measured against B Lab’s standards to be publicly available on their B Corp profile on B Lab’s website.

  • As leaders in the movement for economic systems change, we build trust with consumers, communities, and suppliers; attract and retain employees; and draw mission-aligned investors. This ensures all products and services related that we render, are B-Corp certified products. This way we can provide our clients the highest quality of products, down to how they are manufactured and developed.

COFFEE FROM THE FINEST ROASTER

  • A Sustainable Colorado Coffee Roaster

A TINY BEAN WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR HUGE IMPACT

A family owned company since 1996, we’re more than a little bit nerdy about exquisitely roasted and ethically sourced coffee.

    THEIR HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

Conscious Coffees began with co-creators Mel and Mark in the early 1990s, who first got their start as baristas in Colorado's Rocky Mountains. By 1996, they had a roasting machine of their own, a handful of wholesale accounts, and some new ideas on craft roasting. Since those early days of trial and error techniques, they refined the roasting process that is now equal parts art and science.

BIG DREAMS FOR THIS TINY BEAN

In 2017, Craig Lamberty, a long-time businessman and coffee fanatic, purchased Conscious Coffees from Mel and Mark. Along with his wife Laura and his sister Kim, Craig dove into the world of specialty coffee, planning to grow the business without compromising the mission of socially and ecologically-responsible coffee.

Based in Boulder, CO the roastery is more like a laboratory these days. Honoring the hard work of their farmer partners, they roast every small batch of beans fresh to order.

  • “Supporting communities, not commodities” describes the values of Conscious Coffees.

We strive to not only provide the best coffee around, but to ensure the producers are treated fairly and can grow and prosper.

As partners, we have a commitment to the social, economic and environmental health of their communities. Cooperative Coffees offers us a vehicle to engage in this partnership. They also give us the resources to educate our customers about the hardships that the farmers must endure. Together we can make a difference.

PURPOSE DRIVEN PAPER PRODUCTS

  • First of all, it's funny. Lots of room for toilet jokes, which we love.

But really, we love toilet paper because for us, it's our way of making a difference. We started Who Gives A Crap when we learnt that 2.4 billion people don't have access to a toilet (now 2 billion – yay for progress!). That's roughly 40% of the global population and means that around 289,000 children under five die every year from diarrheal diseases caused by poor water and sanitation. That's almost 800 children per day, or one child every two minutes.

  • We donate 50% of our profits to ensure everyone has access to clean water and a toilet within our lifetime

And with your help, we'll get there.

    WE'VE DONATED OVER...

    $11,222,000 AUD

It's incredible! But we still have a long way to go.
